Ten BWBs travelled to Yeovil. Slight apprehension in the pink dressing room ahead of kick off due to the uncertainty in how we may fair due to a depleted squad on ten tors weekends.A headed goal 1 to BWB from Harry lifted the mood on a difficult pitch… the images say it all, not for the passing game nor ideal when down in numbers – the boys won the first half 0-1. Despite the determined performance, the hosts first goal came from our throw in and a little lapse in concentration enabled the turnover of possession to their striker, physically bigger played down the centre and found the net… 2 more goals followed the same pattern, straight balls, aerial balls came too quickly to stop. However, the boys showed enormous character – took the game to the final whistle and with a little more composure could have found 3 goals, our second goal came from Ellis who was unable to play centrehalf in the second half. It was very pleasing to see how high up the pitch the boys managed to work the ball in such difficult circumstances, finishing the game the stronger of the two sides. The outcome – a perfect display of how one can win, in terms of individual and collective gain despite losing in terms of scoreline.
